Joshua Tree + Palm Springs, California
Best time to visit: Spring 🌸 or Winter ❄️
I actually spent my 30th birthday here! I got a group of my best friends together, and we celebrated the big 3-0 in Joshua Tree, with a day trip to Palm Springs. It turned out to be one of the most unique and memorable birthday trips ever.
Palm Springs and Joshua Tree are perfect if you want sunny weather, stylish vibes, and a taste of the desert’s unique, wacky energy. Joshua Tree, in particular, has a one-of-a-kind spirit with its quirky art installations, eclectic local hot spots, and a sense of being totally removed from the usual hustle. Paired with a day trip to Palm Springs (or vice versa if you stay in Palm Springs and trip to Joshua Tree), you have a perfect balance of desert serenity and chic city fun. Whether you’re biking through Palm Springs and admiring the iconic mid-century modern homes, or stargazing in the quiet vastness of Joshua Tree National Park, there’s so much to take in. Spring and winter are ideal for avoiding the desert heat while still enjoying perfect weather for lounging outdoors and exploring the otherworldly landscape.
