Hi, my name is Janelle.

Welcome to Janelle’s Journeys, a place for me to bookmark my adventures.

Travel looks different for everyone. For me, it’s a blend of spontaneous moments, planned adventures, and joyful chaos. I’m a planner—because missing out on the best view in a new place or skipping that ‘top-of-every-list’ hidden gem that locals rave about? Not a chance. But I’m also here for the unexpected, those moments that sneak up, catch me by surprise, and leave a lasting mark in my memory banks. It’s the balance I crave: planning for the highlights and living for the surprises.

Moments like: Running through a Yosemite National Park trail laughing with my best friends as we chase down my runaway birthday balloons; catching an unexpected street performer as the sun sets on Berlin; getting stranded with no cell service at a quirky saloon in Joshua Tree; having an out-of-body experience dancing (more like jumping) my way through Don Diablo’s set at my first EDM festival at EDC Orlando; enjoying a candlelit lunch during a power outage on a spontaneous girls’ trip to New Orleans; pulling off a highway overlook in Spain to listen to my best friend yell at the top of her lungs off the side of a mountain; freezing on the boat ride back from seeing manta rays in the ocean of Hawaii after forgetting to pack towels to keep warm; going snorkeling in Sayulita and getting to see a mama humpback teaching her baby how to breach the water; feeling blissfully exhausted after learning to surf for the first time on a beach in New Zealand.

It’s not perfect, but it’s those moments in between. The times that etch themselves into the depths of my mind. The memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. That’s the adventure I chase.

Join me as I expand my small corner of the world through travel and share my experiences—helping you plan unforgettable trips, eat + drink local cuisine, capture Instagrammable moments (because I am a photographer by day), and collect lifelong memories through adventure and imperfectly magical experiences.
